LEDA is excited to confirm that the 2025 Southern Illinois Dressage Classic (SIDC) will be held 6th and 7th Sep 25 at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds Horse Arena. Am extremely happy to confirm that our judge this year will once again be Paula Briney of Chatham, IL. Paula has her “r” for USDF Classical and her "R" for USEF Western Dressage. This year we will again be WDAA, WDAIL, LEDA, MISHO, THT and SLADS recognized.
There will be a full complement of both classical, western and western-gaited classes offered both days, as well as freestyle on Saturday 6th.
We are so very lucky to have the continuing generous sponsorship of both Chanda Mills, Brierbank Farm for classical awards and Crystal Welsh, CW Equestrian Center for western awards and Katharina Nowotny-Boles, K & M Pferdehof for first place class awards . Last year, in addition we were incredibly lucky to have the generous sponsorship of Doza Creek Stables (Julia Scneidewind) and K & M Pferdehof (Katharina) for junior scholarships. Am still working on the details for this year but Doza Creek (Julia) and myself are planning to sponsor scholarships.
Please remember out-of-state entrants will need an Illinois entry permit which can be requested/obtained online through your veterinarian.
Tentative class offerings this year will include:
Classical: Intro, Training, First and Second levels plus Third and above “Tests of Choice”
Western: Intro, Basic, Levels 1, 2, 3 plus “Tests of Choice” for level 4 and above
Western Gaited: Intro, Basic, TOC for higher levels
Lead-line will be offered both days and Freestyle on Saturday
If anything changes, will update our "event" posting.
Saturday Subway Lunch will be provided at the arena and a LEDA-sponsored Alongi’s pizza, pasta and salad buffet dinner will be held on Saturday evening (donations towards the cost of putting on the dinner are always hugely appreciated but strictly voluntary).
Stabling will once again be in the open-air stalls next to the arena, and the indoor wash racks are of course available to us as well.
Am looking forward to another fabulous show this year – can’t wait to see you all -- this show is one of the highlights of my horsey year even though I don't compete any more - I absolutely LOVE seeing all our competitors and their equine partners and watching their progress year upon year!!
Traditionally, online entries open the last week of July/First week of August.
