The 10th Annual River Region Disability Expo will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Alcazar Shriner's Temple at 555 Eastern Blvd., Montgomery, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.The River Regions Disability Expo was started by local Rachel Hughes, and it was created to inform individuals living in the River Region and beyond about services available to help them or their loved ones. The first event was 10 years ago at Eastmont Baptist Church with only 25 vendors. The next year it grew to 87 vendors, and in year four, they had to expand to a larger facility, the Alcazar Shriner’s Temple in Montgomery. There is no fee to attend, but vendors are charged a small fee to exhibit. Support groups are not charged.
There will be exhibitors set up from a variety of programs, services and products. Some examples include: independent living, technology, children’s services, recreation, advocacy, education, transition services, social skills, life coaching, employment and more. Many of the exhibitors presented at the Disability Expo do not charge for their service.
New this year, expert panelists will be on hand to help individuals who need assistance in navigating resources.
