About Mardi Gras in Portland:
The Mysti Krewe of Nimbus starts with a traditional Theme Announcement on January 6 –the start of Carnival season. Also known as Epiphany or Twelfth Night, it marks the end of the Christmas season and beginning of the journey to Lent. Mardi Gras- Fat Tuesday- is the last hurrah on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.
