The Park Point 5-Miler & 2-Mile Walk is the third race in the annual KP Challenge, with participants committing to run three YAF races throughout the spring and summer. The others are the Saint Fennessy 4K and Fitger's 5K, with the series designed to keep participants on a regular training schedule that supports the successful completion of longer distances.

Net proceeds from the event go to benefit the Young Athletes Foundation (YAF), the nonprofit arm of Grandma's Marathon focused on helping the area's youth develop healthy and active lifestyles. Since its inception in 1990, the YAF has donated more than $1.3 million to youth athletic organizations in a five-county region.
