2025 Palmetto Alligator Research and Management Symposium

The 6th Palmetto Alligator Research and Management Symposium (PARMS) will be held on March 27-28, 2025 at the University of Georgia’s Savannah River Ecology Laboratory (SREL) Conference Center near Aiken, South Carolina (https://srel.uga.edu/visit/conference-center/). The program will include presentations on a variety of topics related to alligator biology and management in the southeastern U.S., as well as additional talks focusing on other crocodilians.

March 27th - On-site registration and poster set-up will run from 12:00-1:45 PM, and the program will begin at 2:00 PM. The keynote presentation will commence at 4:00 PM. We will adjourn at 5:30 PM for dinner (on your own) in Aiken (we will have suggestions on places to go).

March 28th – A light breakfast (snacks) and coffee will be provided from 8:00 to 8:40 AM, and following announcements and an introduction, the program will resume at 9:00 AM. The program will run until 4:00 PM (lunch will be provided). A poster social will begin at 4:15 PM with dinner to follow at 6:00 PM.

Times are subject to change and will be updated on the final program a few weeks before the meeting.

Registration is $55 per person and includes a light breakfast, lunch, and dinner on March 28th as well as your PARMS T-shirt. Everyone planning to attend must register, including all speakers. For anyone wishing to bring students or family members, please have each person in your group register individually so we can keep an accurate count of those attending.

Registration ends at midnight (12:00 PM) EST on Wednesday, March 19th.

T-shirts – Register by midnight (12:00 PM) on Friday, February 28th and indicate size. Otherwise, we will guess your T-shirt size.

Lodging - We have reserved a block of 35 rooms at the Country Inn and Suites by Radisson in Aiken (12 miles from the Conference Center) for $99 per night (https://www.choicehotels.com/reservations/groups/IR10E6). Several other hotel, Airbnb, and VRBO options are also available in the Aiken area.

Presentations - Please find attached the abstract form to be completed by those wishing to make a presentation (talk or poster) at the meeting. As in the past, speakers will have 20 minutes for talks (~15 min for presentation, 5 min for questions). Posters should be no larger than 48x36 inches.
