Join us as we kick off the 2025 One Book Project (which coordinates exciting programs happening throughout October and November in Kern County)! On this day, come experience the drumming of the Two-Crows BAIHP Singers, learn more about the 2025 One Book book title selection, take part in our βWhatβs Your Story?β writing activity and craft session, and explore resources featuring Native organizations and community partners. Attendees will enjoy light refreshments and snacks served on a first-come, first-served basis. This event is free and open to all.The 2025 One Book title selection is Whiskey Tender: A Memoir by Deborah Jackson Taffa, a citizen of the Quechan (Yuma) Nation and Laguna-Pueblo. The book is a moving testimony of identity, survival, and intergenerational strength. This event is hosted by: Bakersfield College Office of Student Life, Native American Student Support Services Program (NASSSP), The First Renegades Student Organization, Kern County Library, and other community partners.
