Save the date for the 2025 Oklahoma History Symposium on Saturday, May 3, at the OK History Center in OKC!Our keynote speaker will be award-winning filmmaker Loren Waters (Cherokee/Kiowa). She will discuss her documentary short “ᏗᏂᏠᎯ ᎤᏪᏯ (Meet Me at the Creek),” which focuses on Cherokee elder Rebecca Jim’s efforts to restore Tar Creek in Miami, Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma History Symposium is FREE and open to the public. This one-day event offers scholars, students, authors, and educators a forum to share their work with history enthusiasts. Typical activities include a keynote, historical sessions, exhibitors, a book signing, a meeting of the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) membership, and a brief organizational meeting of the OHS Board of Directors.
