About this Event
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit organization founded by twenty-two collegiate women on January 13, 1913, at Howard University, Washington, D.C. These students wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to aid those in need.
The sorority has clearly distinguished itself as a public service organization that boldly confronts the challenges of African Americans and hence all Americans.
Chartered in 1936, the New Orleans Alumnae Chapter has grown from its modest and forceful eleven to over 733 informed and socially responsible members. The chapter has risen above obstacles and unforeseen challenges, to continue the development of its illustrious history of public service in metropolitan New Orleans.
