Arizona's only MLK parade will kick-off at 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of MLK Way and the Honorary Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street (Center Street), turning east on First Street and end on Hibbert. Our parade includes marching bands, dance troupes, the Buffalo Soldiers, schools, local organizations, community leaders, neighboring towns, elected officials and many, many more.
Following the parade we will host our community festival from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Plaza at Mesa City Center. Join us for food, vendors, activities for kids, and entertainment.
Performances by Silhouette & iSpark Dancers and music by DJ B.Mac
At 1:00 p.m. The Sidney Poitier New American Film School at ASU will host a special viewing of the critically acclaimed movie Selma.
This event is in partnership with the City of Mesa and ASU MIX Center.
