Munnell Run Farm is a 163-acre educational facility located in Mercer, Pennsylvania, and encompasses a diverse woodlot, activities building, cattle farm, and so much more. The Farm was once a part of the Mercer County Home and Hospital, which has since been divided into multiple properties, including the Mercer County Career Center and Avalon Springs Nursing Home.
Many of the Home’s historic buildings are still scattered around Munnell Run Farm and have since been repurposed, including the slaughterhouse-turned-trout-nursery and dairy-barn-turned-sugar-shack.
Staff of the Mercer County Conservation District now manage the Farm, including its sugar shack and maple production.
Stop by on Saturday to see our wood-fired evaporator, explore the farm, and enjoy some tasty maple treats.
The Rural Life Museum and historic Bigler House will also be open, thanks to the Mercer County Historical Society.
