You Are Invited

Hamline University and the Wesley Center for Spirituality, Service, and Social Justice invite you to the 2025 Spring Mahle Workshop and Lecture: "Reparative Scriptural Reasoning." This public event will also serve as a headline event of the "" hosted by the University of St. Thomas and the Minnesota Multifaith Network (MnMN).

This workshop and subsequent lecture will take place on the evening of Tuesday, April 8th, 2025, on Hamline University's campus in the Kay Fredericks Room (KFR) in Klas Center, with doors opening at 5:00 PM.

Please join us for a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful interfaith dialogue, learn from global Scriptural Reasoning leaders, and reflect on how sacred traditions can guide efforts to repair our world.



Agenda for the Evening
  • 5:00 PM: Doors open for gathering
  • 5:30 PM: "Repair," a Scriptural Reasoning Workshop, facilitated by trained local leaders** and Keynote Workshop Leaders. An interactive discussion exploring how sacred texts can inform practices of repair and healing.
  • 7:15 PM: Dinner for all workshop participants
  • 8:00 PM: “Scriptural Reasoning and Indigenous Wisdom,” Keynote Lecture by Dr. Rocío Cortés Rodríguez. The keynote lecture will be followed by an interactive Q&A and discussion.

If you have engaged in Scriptural Reasoning before and/or attended the Scriptural Reasoning workshop at the 2024 Mahle Lecture, indicate in the registration form when you reserve your tickets through this site, if you are interested in attending a training on "Leading an SR Group" led by Keynote SR Workshop Facilitators. This training is free and includes dinner. Please note: this offering is limited to 25 participants.



Keynote Speaker Bio:

Dr. Rocío Cortés Rodríguez is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Theology, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She specializes in interreligious dialogue, with a focus on Judaism, Islam, and indigenous traditions.

She holds a Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Notre Dame, United States (2020), and a Master’s in Theology from the University of Helsinki, Finland (2014). Her work applies Scriptural Reasoning to foster religious coexistence, particularly in the Chilean context, integrating it into schools, universities, and pastoral settings. She is also a member of the UC Center for the Study of Religion and the Red Ecclesia in America.
