11.30 am - Echoes of ’65: The Year of the Wood Snake
12 pm - Community performances
A five-hour cultural extravaganza of showcasing the diversity of the talents of Wellington’s community groups. Our cultural showcase offers something for everyone - the elegance of classical dance to exhilarating display of martial arts, contemporary and hip hop dance.
To mark the Year of the Wood Snake, the cultural entertainment programme will open with Echoes of ‘65, a series of performances inspired by events and music of 1965, the last year of the Wood Snake. This will be followed by community group performances.
🎨 Asian Market - Craft Stalls | 11 am - 5 pm
Immerse yourself in a bustling street market in the heart of TSB Arena where you will experience a rich tapestry of Asian arts, craft and culture. Explore a kaleidoscope of stalls and displays from local community groups and organisations.
🌳 Fun in the Park (supported by Four Winds Foundation) | 11.30 am - 4.30 pm
Bring the whole family to Frank Kitts Park for a fun-filled day with a bouncy castle, merry-go-round, face-painting, balloon animals, and snake-themed crafts.
Enjoy live performances and interactive activities, including Chinese dragon dancing, Vietnamese folk dance, Kung fu, K-pop, Muay Thai, and taiko drumming!
