About this Event
Proceeds from the golf tournament support scholarships for students at the University of Central Florida (UCF) and ten (10) high schools in Orange and Seminole Counties.
In addition, funds raised at this event support STEM Initiatives that benefit both middle and high school programs throughout Central Florida.
The Vince and Beth Amico Scholarship ($2,500) is offered in the fall and spring semesters at UCF to incoming freshmen who show an interest in STEM-focused careers or to graduate students pursuing Master’s or Doctoral Degrees in Simulation from UCF’s Institute for Simulation & Training (IST).
The Hank Okraski Scholarship ($1,000) is awarded to Orange and Seminole County high school seniors annually who have been involved and excelled in specialized STEM programs at their schools.
Your support is critical to addressing the STEM challenge and helping the United States remain a world leader in STEM education by encouraging more students to join the STEM ranks. According to the U.S. Government, STEM occupations are outpacing STEM graduates, which requires an “all hands on deck challenge” to increase the number of STEM students. As such, the National Center for Simulation has proven that we have access to a unique set of capabilities to assist in addressing the STEM challenge by leveraging the proceeds of this tournament to promote and lead STEM initiatives for the Modeling, Simulation & Training (MS&T) community by bringing our resources, expertise, and services of NCS and its members to strengthen the pipeline for the future workforce.
