Known as a super food, Kimchi has deep historical and cultural roots, originating from the Three Kingdoms era of Korea over 2,000 years ago.
The process of making kimchi was designated by UNESCO as an example of the “intangible cultural heritage of humanity” in 2013.
Subsequently, November 22 has been celebrated as Kimchi Day, and we Alaskans started to celebrate the day in 2024 with the rest of the world.
Therefore, the Korean Cultural Center Alaska invites you all to an event filled with a kimchi-making demonstration, Korean food tasting, multicultural performances, free tabling, family-friendly activities, and prizes.
Making kimchi is not just cooking - it is sharing love, history, and flavor. Come learn, taste, and celebrate with us!
(Free tabling available. Please register.)
