Accessing the system of early care and education is one of the biggest challenges that families with young children face today. Child care impacts parents’ ability to work, employers’ ability to find and retain employees, and young children’s healthy development.
We consistently hear from elected officials that they want to hear from real people. The United Way team will schedule and facilitate meetings with your state representatives and senators. All you need to do is share your lived experiences related to early child care and education.
In addition to early childhood education, we will also talk with lawmakers about United Way’s work to create a community where every family can achieve financial stability and housing security.
The day’s agenda will include legislative visits; a rally with statewide elected officials, legislative leaders, and United Way leaders; and panels on early childhood education and housing issues. We will also have a chance to visit the OneNKY house and learn about their work ensuring Northern Kentucky’s voice is heard in Frankfort.
