Friends of Justice in Alabama are invited by the volunteer leaders of Faith in Action Alabama to honor the individuals who have dedicated their careers to creating more just systems in which all Alabamians can thrive.
On Thursday, August 21, from 7pm-8:30pm, at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, 1 Festival Drive., Montgomery, Alabama, Faith in Action Alabama will present the Second Annual Justice in Action Awards Ceremony to shine a spotlight on the exemplary Alabamians doing phenomenal work for Justice, Dignity, and Equity in our state. At this gathering, we will honor the justice work of Bryan Stevenson of the Equal Justice Initiative and Father Manuel Williams of Resurrection Catholic Church. After receiving the awards, Mr. Stevenson and Father Manuel will participate in a "fireside chat" about what prophetic shalom could look like in Alabama.
The VIP reception will take place at the Alabama Shakespeare Theatre, at 5:30 p.m. - 6:30. The reception will include an opportunity to meet Father Manuel Williams as well as Faith in Action Alabama's staff and board of directors. Food and beverage service will be provided.
We are turning to businesses, organizations, and individuals to make this evening a moment to inspire and support leaders who will build the future of Alabama. Faith in Action Alabama's leadership development program has helped grassroots volunteers move powerful local and state campaigns promoting justice and equity.
