Join Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park for the 2025 Historic Mitchelville Film Series, a two-night celebration of African American cultural preservation through film, storytelling, and community dialogue.
This year’s theme, The Labor of Culture Keeping, honors the intergenerational work of artists, chefs, farmers, and historians who have committed their lives to sustaining Black traditions through creativity, resilience, and purpose.
Each evening features a documentary screening followed by an engaging conversation with nationally recognized culture bearers. The series will be guided by historian and Ph.D. candidate André L. Taylor, who brings historical depth and personal insight to each discussion.
