FALL BAKER BRAWL – TOURNAMENT RULES
1 – ELIGIBILITY
This tournament is an Adult/Youth Doubles Baker Tournament open to ANY USBC Youth or Adult Sanctioned Bowler. Fort Wayne Metro USBC Local Dues NOT REQUIRED, however ALL BOWLERS MUST BE USBC sanctioned. Teams will consist of one (1) adult and one (1) High School youth or younger.
2 – FORMAT
Each doubles team will bowl six (6) baker-style games. Baker-style games are where one bowler throws the first frame and their partner throws the next frame. The youth bowler will lead off games 1, 3, & 5 while the adult will lead off games 2, 4, &6. Lane condition will be a house pattern. Bowlers will bowl the complete game on one lane. Each team will move one lane to the right after each game until all six games have been completed.
3 – AVERAGES/HANDICAPPING
Averages will be based on 2024-2025 USBC averages (NO “10-PIN RULE RERATES WILL BE USED). YOUTH averages will be based on minimum NINE (9) games, and ADULT averages based on minimum 21 games. If no average was established in the 2023-2024 season, a competitor’s current USBC average as of October 30th, 2025 will be used (Youth = Minimum 9 games, Adults minimum12 games). IF NO AVERAGE, AVERAGES WILL BE ASSIGNED AS FOLLOWED: ADULT MALE = 185, ADULT FEMALE = 160, YOUTH (EITHER GENDER) = 125. Bowlers are responsible to provide proof of average upon request. Handicap is 85% of 420 team average.
4 – PRIZES & SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Trophies will be awarded to the winners of this tournament. Door prizes will be given out during each shift to the youth participants. Scholarship: Monies collected as part of entry fees for scholarship will be added to the SMART funds for Fort Wayne Metro USBC scholarship fund.
5 – ON LANE EDIQUET / GENERAL CONDUCT
NO electronic devices on the lanes while bowling (PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES USED FOR LIVE STREAMING ARE PROHIBITED IN BOWLING CENTER! NO EXCEPTIONS). NO food/drink will be permitted in the bowler’s area. NO alcohol consumption will be permitted by adults behind the youth bowler’s lanes. NO smoking/vaping permitted on premises or by bowlers during competition. ALL OTHER YOUTH CONDUCT AND GENERAL PLAYING RULES WILL DEFAULT BACK TO THE 2025-2026 USBC NATIONAL RULEBOOK (Reference Rule 17d – PAGE 18). Violation of tournament rules will carry the penalty of disqualification with no refund.
17d. Youth Conduct Individuals holding youth membership can be removed from competition/functions and/or suspended/denied membership for the following: 1. Conduct derogatory to the best interest of youth bowling including, but not limited to, the following in conjunction with youth competition and functions: a. Using tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages. b. Using foul language or gestures. c. Wearing clothing depicting foul language or gestures. 2. Prior adjudication of delinquency or conviction of a crime including, but not limited to, crimes involving physical or mental abuse or sexual assault.
6 – ENTRY FEES / REGISTRATION
Entry fee MUST must be paid at time of entry. Entries postmarked after OCTOBER 30th, 2025 will be considered a walk-in and will be $50.00. Other walk-ins as well will be $50.00 only if entered 30 minutes prior to shift start on a “first come, first serve” basis and only if space permits.
