FANHS-MNY's annual Community Awards celebrates the accomplishments of Filipino American community and its leaders in the Metro NY area!
About this Event

October is Filipino American History Month, and we’re coming together to honor the past, present, and future of our community. Filipino Americans have been shaping New York City, from their early migration and labor organizing to their contributions to the arts, activism, and advocacy that continue to inspire today.


Join Us for a Day of Celebration:

Celebrate the Legacy: Recognize the historical impact of Filipino Americans in NYC and honor today’s leaders who continue to uplift our community.

Distinguished Young Professional Award: Clifford Robin Temprosa

Outstanding Artist Award: Abang-Guard, Maureen Catbagan & Jevijoe Vitug

Contribution to Excellence Awards:

  • Rena O. Pedaria
  • Lisa Angulo Reid
  • Michael Salgarolo

Bayani Award: Potri Ranka Manis

Lifetime Achievement Award: Noel T. Pangilinan

Meet Community Changemakers: Connect with Filipino American organizations doing vital work across the city.

Experience Art & History: Take a guided tour of the powerful MAKIBAKA exhibit at the Queens Museum, created by the artist duo Abang-guard, which brings to life the stories of Filipino American resistance and solidarity.

Enjoy Merienda Together: Savor delicious bites from local Fil-Am-owned August Tree and Arellano Bakery while mingling and networking with additional drinks provided by Sanzo.
