Announcing our first Eastern Region Event Lifeguard Development Weekend.Saturday 11 - Sunday 12 October 2025
Rescue Centre, Mt Maunganui & Omanu SLSC
The purpose of the weekend is to:
* Provide a training and development weekend to promote Event * Lifeguard development in the Eastern Region to support our Lifesaving Sport Events.
*To build capacity in the Event Lifeguard space to support club, local area and regional events with a look to feed into the National Event Lifeguard.
*To connect and support Event Lifeguard development across the Eastern Region.
Outcomes:
*Outline the role of the Event Lifeguard & Event Water Safety Team
*Working together as an Event Delivery Team with Officials & other event volunteers
*Working safely with & around event equipment
*Working safely within the IRB & athlete space
*Practical application of setting event courses & using event equipment
*Enhancing the knowledge & experience to grow a well-resourced, competent & confident Event Water Safety Team
