The Australian Novice Debating Championships (commonly known as "Easters") is being held at University of Melbourne from Monday 21st April to Friday 25th of April. The UNSW Debating Society will be sending 8 teams and 7 adjudicators. Trials are being held on Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th of March in the Law Building. If you would like to trial for the UNSW contingent at Easters, please complete the form below by 5:00pm Thursday 13th of March. This deadline is absolute because we need to organise trial debates. Trials will take place over two days with the second day acting as a callback for any people who are asked to debate again.
Note: There is a $50 trial deposit. Those selected into the contingent are expected to pay an extra $450 for a total $500 registration cost inclusive of food, accommodation, socials.
An adjudication trial will take place later in the week for those who weren't selected in the debating contingent but would like to adjudicate.
NOTE: Not being asked to a callback is not a signal of whether or not you have made the contingent. For more details, the trial policy will also be attached below to read (which you'll be expected to sign). If you have any questions, contact our VP (Externals) Tom Watson on Messenger or via [email protected].
