About this Event
The Micha-el Institute's annual Early Childhood Summer Intensive Conference will be held from August 3rd - August 13th, 2025.
The theme for the Early Childhood Summer Intensive Conference this year is “Establishing a Rhythmical Life for a Young Child.” It will be held at the Cedarwood Waldorf School.
Everyone who is interested in learning as a beginner or in depth about Early Childhood is welcome.
PLEASE NOTE: A supplies fee of about $50 will be collected at the conference.
Week 1: The conference begins with the Opening Evening at 6:30pm on Sunday, August 3rd, and ends at 12 noon on Saturday, August 9th. Every day starts with eurythmy to wake up your body, mind, and soul, followed by morning lectures to help you understand the correlation between human rhythms and universal rhythms, explanations and presentations of circle times, and transitioning songs and finger games that you can actually practice. In the afternoon, you will make your own movable toy, guided by a master of woodwork.
Week 2: It starts at 8:30am on Monday, August 11th and ends at 4:30pm on Wednesday, August 13th. Each day begins with eurythmy to wake up your body, mind, and soul, followed by morning lectures and presentations to help you understand rhythmical life in the Early Childhood setting in depth. In the afternoon, you can develop your singing abilities, focusing on pentatonic and mood of the fifth music, and you will learn wet felting, which has been a traditional fiber art for thousands of years, and make things that are useful in a child's daily life.
