The Summit will begin at 10am and conclude at 12:30pm.
Check-in and same day registration at the Historic Chateau Theater begins at 10am.
This Walk and Roll Summit is a fun, interactive way to assess the pedestrian experience in downtown Rochester. Walking and rolling together, we will identify potential improvements to sidewalks, crosswalks, lighting, and traffic flow, while checking the pedestrian-friendliness and walkability of our downtown. Join us and influence a positive change, connect with your neighbors, enjoy fresh air & exercise, and raise awareness!
After a brief kick-off, you will join a small group of volunteers. For the next hour or so, you and your group walk and roll along a pre-determined route observing and evaluating is walkability and rollability. A team leader will guide your observations using a set of worksheets. These worksheets will also document your team’s evaluations and comments along with appropriate photos.
After completing your route, you will join other participants sharing your observations with local planning staff from Destination Medical Center, Rochester Downtown Alliance, and the City of Rochester.
This is an opportunity to study how the city can build for the best walking and rolling experience downtown.

**All volunteers must use the Wufoo link to register. This will allow easy volunteer tracking for the summit planning team.
2025 Downtown Walk & Roll Summit partners include Destination Medical Center, Rochester Downtown Alliance, City of Rochester, Age Friendly Olmsted County, and Family Service Rochester.
