About this Event

Get ready for an unforgettable celebration of music at this year’s Danny Barker Banjo and Guitar Festival, kicking off on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. The festivities begin with our exclusive Patron Party at the Terrell House Bed and Breakfast, a wonderful way to start the celebration.

On Wednesday, March 19, join us for “A Touch of Blue,” a special tribute to Blue Lu Barker, from 6–9 PM at the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA). The evening will feature enchanting performances by the incredibly talented Dee Dee Bridgewater, Leyla McCalla, and Dr. Michael White leading the Danny Barker Tribute Band—an event you absolutely won’t want to miss.

Thursday, March 20, brings exciting opportunities to learn about the history of New Orleans, its culture, music, and so much about Danny Barker. Attend our Banjo & Guitar Clinic at the University of New Orleans (UNO) at noon. You can wrap up the day with a spectacular performance by the amazing Catherine Russell and the Danny Barker Tribute Band at Snug Harbor, with two shows at 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM. Tickets are available on the Snug Harbor website.

The festival culminates with three immersive days at the New Orleans Jazz Museum. Check out the detailed agenda for a lineup of exceptional artists and events, and show your support for your favorite musicians, who truly enrich our cultural landscape.

The Danny Barker Banjo and Guitar Festival not only celebrates the musical heritage of New Orleans but also actively contributes to its preservation and evolution. The festival stands as a testament to Danny Barker’s enduring legacy and the unbreakable spirit of New Orleans’ musical community.
