Join us on Wednesday 9th July for The Annual Curfew Run.Starting near The Barracks, Berwick-upon-Tweed, the 2025 traditional 1.28 mile Curfew Run (and Curfew Fun Run) takes place around the historic Elizabethan Town Walls.
The course has been officially measured by UK Athletics at 1.2861 miles (Certificate No 17/168).
The aim of the race is to beat the time it takes the Curfew Bell to toll - 13 minutes.
Both races are fully licenced by England Athletics (Licence No: 29235).
The Curfew Fun Run kicks off proceedings at 7.30 pm. This is "fun for all the family" and aimed specifically at young children who wish to run either on their own or with their parents (please note that all children under 8 must run with an adult who must also enter the race), families and adult fun runners. Entry for the Curfew Fun Run is either online (closing date mid-night Sunday 6th July) or on the night from 6pm outside the Barracks; however, due to high demand, entry on the night is likely to be VERY limited. We will update this page to let you know if there will be any on the night entries. Entry costs £4 for children, £8 for adults. There is a race limit of 175 runners.
The traditional Curfew Run follows at 8 pm. This is for runners aged 13 years and over on the day. Entry is either online (closing date mid-night Monday 7th July) at £8 or you can enter on the night for £10. There is a race limit of 150 runners.
Numbers for online entries (for both races) will be available to collect on the night from the Registration Desk outside the Barracks from 6 pm onwards.
Please note that in the interests of preserving the ethos and integrity of the Curfew Fun Run ("Fun for all the Family"), there will be NO times recorded.
Chip-timing by KitST will, however, record the times for all named runners in the Curfew Run at 8 pm.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ENTER THE CORRECT RACE !
