This Tuesday night we gather once again to honor a founding member of our mobile mic community. Crystal found her voice *with us,* and we will continue to sing for her in her absence. This is also an opportunity to annually memorialize all loved ones lost to our tightly-knit community.
Whether it be a cocktail, a mocktail, a pop or a water…plan on raising your glass to Crystal this week. Group hugs likely to abound. 🙃
THEME DETAILS: Musicians are encouraged to choose songs ideal for group singing, whether in part or in full. Covers and originals equally welcome. Other performance pieces may emphasize themes of mental health, d0mestic vi0lence, p4rtner 4buse, trauma recovery or grief&loss. TO SING TOGETHER IS TO HEAL TOGETHER.

• (2023) 1st Annual Crystal Mathis Memorial Songshare with the Peoria Music Community Women’s Cooperative
• (2024) 2nd Annual Crystal Mathis Memorial Songshare with the Peoria Music Community Women’s Cooperative
• (2025) Crystal Mathis Memorial Sing-Along with “The Listening Room” Mobile Open Mic Community
• (2026, 2027, etc…) Community members can expect to proceed in future years with sing-along format. This annual event will support our individual and group journeys as we seek to keep our lost loved ones alive in our memories and their songs alive in our hearts. This is certain: we feel great loss because we have known great love. 💌

Never heard of “The Listening Room?” We’re Peoria’s first and only mobile open mic community! Join us as we pop up at a different location in Central Illinois every Tuesday evening. See new and established artists on new and established stages and enjoy a rapid-fire open mic experience averaging 10-20 acts per event. While we welcome and celebrate full bands we are especially known for highlighting the many acoustic acts and singer songwriters hidden within the expansive Peoria music community. Host Sarah Marie Dillard from Sarah & The Underground facilitates a unique open mic experience strongly reminiscent of the iconic Bluebird Café in Nashville, TN. 🚀✨
