About this Event
The Collin County branch of the NAACP is excited to announce the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade scheduled for Monday, January 20th, at 10:00 a.m. This event, celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., will take place in Plano, Texas. The parade route will include the Douglass Community, one of the 1st Black communities in Collin County, and the Plano African American Museum.
The theme for the 2025 MLK Parade is "Protecting Freedom, Justice, and Democracy." We invite bands, drill teams, community groups, organizations, churches, businesses, youth groups, politicians, and others to join us in this vibrant celebration. Participants are encouraged to design their parade entry to reflect their theme interpretation. Prizes will be awarded to the best-themed parade entries.
The entire community is invited to this FREE event, which promises to be a joyful and meaningful experience. Following the parade, we invite the community to join us as we issue a call to action embracing the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a "day on, not a day off."
