CIRCA MARINE FISHING CONTEST OVERVIEWThe Annual Circa Marine Fishing Contest is back in 2025!!
This epic event will be held on the weekend of Friday 14th March, 3pm until Sunday 16th March, 1pm. The prize-giving will be held at Circa Marine & Industrial located at 245 Port Rd, Port Whangarei at 3pm, with a BBQ and refreshments for the whole family.
This is a 'measure' only competition for a number of different categories, so the chances of winning some incredible prizes are high!

ENTRY FEE
Fee for Adult (16+) is $40 per entry
Fee for Child (5-15) is $10 per entry

RULES
* This is a measure-only competition, so there is no need to bring your fish back for a weigh-in. This way we can ensure the large breeders of the fish population can be released, unless you need to feed your families - that's a decision reserved for you, the angler.
* The Circa Marine Fishing Contest sticker (which you will receive at registration) must be clearly displayed on your catch in the competition photo which you will post on this page for your entry.
* If two fish measure the same length and are entered into the same category, the picture posted first will be deemed the winner.
* Fish must not be cut or modified in any way to enhance its length. Fish must be correctly placed on your measure (self-provided) - i.e., the upper or lower jaw must touch the 0 mark on your measure, with the V of the tail clearly visible on the mid-line of the measure, showing the length of the fish. It is your responsibility to ensure the photograph is clear for the entry to be valid.
* Photograph must be taken in landscape.
* For further clarification of the rules, please visit fishingcomp.co.nz/rules as we will adopt the same rules used in this contest.
* For the photograph to be accepted for entry, please include the name of the angler, species of fish, and length measured, with the Circa Marine sticker clearly visible. If these parameters are not met, the picture will not be accepted for entry.
* All anglers must be present at the prize-giving to collect their prizes. No show - no prize, and the next largest fish entry will be deemed the winner.
PRIZE-GIVING
The prize-giving will be held at Circa Marine & Industrial, 245 Port Rd, Port Whangarei, Sunday 16th of March at 3pm.
All prize-winners will be announced. Those winners not at the prize-giving will forfeit their prize, and the angler with the next biggest fish in that category will be deemed the winner.
BBQ and refreshments will be available for the whole family.
Don't forget to enter your best side dish to be eligible to win a huge prize - you do not need be an angler to enter a side dish. Please clearly label your side dish with your name.
