
About this Event
Join us on Sunday, September 14th (rain date 09/21) from 11-5 on the as eaters of all backgrounds flood the greenway to sip, sample, and savor New England's finest food. The festival features nearly 100 food vendors, chef demos, a Family Fun Zone, a thrilling Seafood Throwdown, and our New England Village. The Boston Local Food Festival has become a Boston tradition, sharing the character of New England’s thriving food culture. As one of New England's largest one-day food events, the festival is a celebration of flavor and community, as more than 40,000 visitors pour through the Greenway.
If you are interested in , our volunteers are the engine that keeps the festival running. Volunteering at our festival provides excellent networking opportunities with like-minded volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and attendees. As part of our thanks, we will provide you a t-shirt and a $15 voucher at the beginning of your volunteer shift. We ask you to be committed, enthusiastic, and responsible while helping strengthen the New England food system. If you want to volunteer, please fill out or email Gabbie at [email protected].

Info: Learn a new trick or two from New England’s top culinary creatives. Watch our vendors chef up while featuring local ingredients from regionally inspired recipes.

Family Fun Zone
Info: You’ll find the Family Fun Zone near Rings Fountain where face painting, movement, open-ended play, and animal interactions abound. There is something for everyone!

In 2024, OpenAir Circus shared juggling and acro-yoga, Painting as Ritual and Art decorated faces, The Trustees brought their adventure van, the Boston Public Library shared their mobile library, the Mass Health Connector engaged families, and Green Crab had their touch tank for problem-to-plate. We also hosted a cider press and ChopChop magazines.

Seafood Throwdown
Info: The Seafood Throwdown features two local chefs, a surprise seafood ingredient, and all their culinary skills and creativity as they go head-to-head in a cooking competition. Their creations never fail to please.
