Description: Join Bike Dayton, a chapter of Bike Miami Valley, for our 2025 Candidate Ride, a unique opportunity to experience Dayton’s bike infrastructure firsthand—alongside residents, advocates, and fellow riders. On this year's ride, we'll be touring Dayton with the city commission and mayoral candidates.
Over the past several years, Dayton has made important investments in its bike lanes, trails, and streetscape. This ride offers a firsthand look at what it's like to navigate our city on human-powered wheels—whether you're riding on the road, in a dedicated bike lane, or along one of our scenic paved trails.
We invite candidates and community members to join us for this family-friendly ride, led by Bike Dayton’s trained ride leaders. Participants should feel comfortable riding approximately 30 minutes at a casual pace. The ride will highlight key parts of our infrastructure and the real-world conditions cyclists face daily.
Following the ride, we’ll gather at Out on Fifth for a social hour. There will be brief comments from the candidates, and then riders and candidates can connect in a relaxed setting and continue the conversation about transportation, access, and Dayton’s vision for safe and inclusive streets.
Helmets are required by law for anyone under age 13 and recommended for all.
