Join us to learn how to become a beekeeper from local beekeeper Scott Edmonds! This in-depth, 8-part course will cover the basics of apiary management and address the challenges of raising honey bees in the North Country. Covered topics will include: -Honey bee biology
-Required equipment and maintenance
-Colony activities and health
-Obtaining honey bees
-Seasonal hive management
Prior to starting the course, participants will be expected to procure their own copy of The Beekeeper's Handbook: 5th Edition by Diana Sammataro and Alphonse Avitabile. This textbook can be purchased on most online retail sites for about $30.
