The Beaufort Film Society is pleased to present the 19th annual Beaufort International Film Festival (BIFF) February 18-23, 2025. As of November 2024, BIFF was ranked by filmmakers as one of the TOP 100 Best Reviewed Film Festivals by FilmFreeway.
Awards will be presented in the categories of Feature Film, Documentary - Short and Feature Length, Animation, Short Films, Student Films, and Screenplays. We will also have the Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Ensemble Cast and Best Musical Score categories. And the ever popular audience voted awards -Audience Choice and Best Comedy.
Our newly created Legends and Legacy Award will go to Tim Gray. Tim is a national award-winning documentary film director, producer and writer based in Rhode Island. He has produced and directed 40 documentary films to date on the personal stories of the World War II generation. All of Tim's films air nationally on American Public Television and also globally in such countries as China, Australia, France and England. Tim's films have won 6 regional Emmy Awards for writing and documentary film work. Tim's film travels have taken him to Guadalcanal, Corregidor, Iwo Jima, Peleliu, Bataan, Manila, Guam, the Philippines, the Solomon Islands, the Russell Islands, Banika, Japan, Pearl Harbor, HI, Normandy, France, Italy, Austria, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany. Our Behind the Scenes Award will honor Lee Donaldson. Lee is based out of Charleston, South Carolina. Lee's body of work as a camera and electrical department shows 40 credits, including, Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills (2021) and Halloween Ends (2022). The Opening Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, February 18th @ 5:30 pm at 805 Cateret Street. A concert by the Beaufort's Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Fred Devyatkin, will be a part of the Opening Ceremony - A Classic Night of Movie Music. TICKET INCLUDES PASSED HORS D'OEUVRES AND HOSTED BAR OF WINE AND BEER INCLUDED. SORRY, NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR.
Screenings will be held on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at University of South Carolina Center for the Arts located at 805 Carteret Street, Downtown Beaufort. Sreenings begin each morning at 9 am. PLEASE NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKALLOWED IN THE VENUE. NO FOOD OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE THE AUDITORIUM PER THE USCB CENTER FOR THE ARTS. The Pre-Awards Champagne Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, February 23rd located at 805 Carteret Street, Downtown Beaufort. TIME: 2:00 PM Dress code: Formal Optional. TICKET INCLUDES Champagne and Passed Hors d'oeuvres and the AWARDS portion of the event will begin promptly at 3:00 pm. SORRY, NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR
