A tradition started in 1984 by Gainesville legend John Harlan (RIP) and evolved into signifying the start of the Florida racing calendar, the Battle of Olustee will muster troops at 9:00 a.m. Sunday at the Holiday Inn corner of 441 and University Avenue. It will head north on 441 then north (right) on CR121 at the Highway Patrol Station. We'll roll out promptly at 9:10 a.m.Ride length is 113 miles with one brief stop at about 45 miles for provisions. The pace will remain civil (20-23mph) until mile 69 when the gauntlet is thrown down and you can show everyone how fast you are. The final sprint is the GREEN city limit sign just before Devil's Millhopper State Park at roughly mile 106.

PARKING: Out of town guests should park at Burlington's on 441 (2643 N.W. 13th Street, Gainesville, FL, 32609). The Holiday Inn is a short 1.7 mile ride heading southbound on 13th Street (441) from Burlington's. YOU WILL BE TOWED IF YOU PARK AT THE HOLIDAY INN.
Additionally, parking restrictions at the University of Florida are lifted on the weekends. Out of town visitors may wish to park at the O'Connell Center Parking Lot at the corner of University Avenue and Gale Lemerand Drive.

A small footnote: If you wish to be recorded in the podium results, you must ride a traditional road bike. We've had several people ride recumbents on the ride which is fine, but if you place in the top 3 and you're on a recumbent, your name will not be recorded.
