The 26th Annual Auggie's 5K Run & Walk, which starts promptly at 9:00 a.m., benefits the programming of the Ohio County Animal Shelter. The flat and fast course, which commences and ends at Warwood Middle School, is on Wheeling's Heritage Trail along the Ohio River. Essentially, runners and walkers have separate, out-and-back courses, despite starting and finishing in the same area. Runners run north on the paved trail, and walkers walk south. There will be post-race refreshments and door prizes.Packet Pickup will start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 8:45 a.m., race day. Packets will not be available Friday evening.
