📣 Community partners, transit enthusiasts, art aficionados, neighborhood advocates, members of the press and anyone just curious is invited to the 2025 Art by Bus Celebration! 🚍 Join us in introducing “The Wheels on the Bus” by local writer and illustrator Joe Lee to the greater Roanoke community. We’re excited to show you the first comic book style Art by Bus edition!

Celebration 11:30 – Noon
Group Bus Ride 12 – 12:30 PM
At the event, we’ll:
*Hear from Joe Lee about the creation process for “Wheels on the Bus” and his travels by transit through Roanoke.
*Hear from Art by Bus project partners representing the City of Roanoke, Valley Metro, Roanoke Arts Commission, RIDE Solutions and Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission.
*Distribute limited edition copies of “Wheels on the Bus” by Joe Lee.
*Networking and Q&A while enjoying refreshments.
*Photo-op at the newly wrapped Valley Metro bus featuring the “Wheels on the Bus” cover!
***ART BY BUS GROUP RIDE
Following the celebration and press conference at the Transit Station, attendees are welcome to join a group bus ride with artist Joe Lee and project partners! We’ll leave around 12 PM for a 30-minute ride from the Transit Station and back.

The Art by Bus program showcases how our communities and citizens are connected through public transportation. The program hopes to inspire residents of all walks of life to try riding the bus to get where they need to go and see transit from a new perspective.
