We are planning for the event to occur between 3:00 and 8:00 PM — more details to come! This year’s event will offer a dynamic lineup of activities, including interactive roundtable discussions, impactful poster presentations, and a variety of networking opportunities to foster connections among peers. Attendees will also have the chance to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) while engaging in meaningful discussions with fellow practitioners, educators, and students. Whether you are looking to expand your professional network, gain new knowledge, or celebrate the incredible achievements within your field, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
A highlight of the event will be the celebration of Becky Nicholson’s remarkable career as she retires. Becky has profoundly influenced our students, alumni, community partners, and the broader OT profession. Her contributions have not only transformed lives but also played a pivotal role in shaping the capstone experience and many other aspects of our program.
We invite you to join us in honoring Becky’s legacy. 3:45 p.m. Community in Practice Round Tables.
These interactive sessions focus on a particular area of practice, with each round table having a facilitator who will guide the discussion among the participants. You are invited to share experiences and ideas and connect with each other.
4:45 p.m. Networking Reception with Food & Drinks.
5:10 p.m. Keynote Address by Angela Blackwell.
This year’s special guest and keynote speaker is Angela Blackwell, Ph.D., OTR/L. Angela’s presentation is titled “Building Your OT Brand from Within: Enacting Values, Theory & Evidence in Professional Identity.”
6:00 p.m. State of the Department Address and Awards.
6:20 p.m. Dr. Nicholson Retirement Celebration.
