2025 Annual Legion BBQ Fundraiser for Camp Sweeney

Smoke Out Diabetes: A Camp Sweeney Fundraiser Presented by LEGION

Come join us at Sue Haswell Memorial Park on April 6th from 12 pm-3 pm for a smokin' good time at our fundraiser event! Let's unite to fight diabetes while enjoying delicious BBQ, music, and yard games. Your support will help send kids to Camp Sweeney where they can learn to manage their type 1 diabetes and have a blast doing it. Mark your calendars and get ready to make a difference with LEGION!

We invite competitors to apply HERE at no cost. Bring your BBQ skills and compete for prizes in beef, pork and other meat, and sides categories. Attendees will receive a ballot to vote on each category!

Each ticket holder will receive 1 raffle entry, 1 ballot, and a plate to judge competitors entries. Yard games and music are free to enjoy for all! Raffle and competition prizes will be announced on the official TAMU LEGION Instagram.

This BBQ is dangerously delicious! Eat at your own risk—our pitmasters take pride in their craft, but we take no responsibility for how much you enjoy it!

If I'm competing, what all do I need to provide?

Cooking / smoking / barbecuing will need to be done off site so you will need to provide a way to keep your entry warm and transport it to the park (likely a cooler). We also ask that you provide serving utensils. We will provide serving plates and silverware.

Info: Food tasting and judging starts, ballots will be counted at the end with winners announced.
