2025 DESIGN AWARDS SPONSORSHIP
The AIA Santa Barbara annual Design Awards program recognizes and honors excellence in architecture within our local built environment. The Design Awards draws attention to the extraordinary legacy of great architecture in Santa Barbara, the value of quality design to our community, and all those who contribute to its creation. Design Awards program entries reflect the eclectic and inspired thought around our community’s famed historical architecture. Entries are submitted in varied categories from Unbuilt to Santa Barbara Architectural Heritage. A select jury of three distinguished architects recognizes projects with awards of Honorable Mention, Merit, or Honor.
Design Awards begins in April with a call for submissions; the jurors convene in October to review the submissions; the award recipients are announced at the Gala in December, and in the early new year, we have the submissions exhibited at a local gallery. The top two benefit levels listed below cover the entire process. In early December, AIA Santa Barbara hosts the annual Design Awards Gala, where the recipients of the Design Awards are acknowledged and honored.
We also award the Lutah Maria Riggs Award at the Gala. This award recognizes an AIA Santa Barbara member, firm, or community member whose work, community service, and civic engagement have had a lasting influence on the betterment of Santa Barbara’s built environment.

DIAMOND $5,000
