2025 Ag Day on The Hill: "Farm, Family, Food and Fun"
The College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources invites you to celebrate with us and learn about the great things going on in the college. Experience Food, Farm, Family, and Fun with our faculty, staff, and researchers!
You can expect this event to be better than ever as we set out to inform our community through interactive and informative workshops, food samplings, and much more.
Friday, April 11, will consist of the following activities:
Youth program tracks
Technology demonstrations and applications
Food tasting and product sampling
(The capacity for Youth Day is 400 students. Once capacity is reached, a waitlist will be enabled, and if space becomes available, we will accept additional participants based on the order of the waitlist.)
Youth Program Track Descriptions:
✎ Veggie Bling Microgreens: Easy-Healthy-Profitable: Learn all about the 14-day process of growing microgreens from seed to harvest! Take home some seeds and give it a try.
✎ Nutrition Fear Factor: Is the fear of trying new foods a FACTOR for you? You can find out here.
✎ Sizzle and Savor - Master the Art of Processed Meats: A delicious adventure introduced by PVAMU meat science center, designed for aspiring meat scientists.
✎Hay, Hay, Hay... and Soil!: Explore the science of soil and hay!
✎ Air-mazing Growth, No Soil Needed!: Imagine growing plants without soil, right in the air! Join the fun and learn how to grow your fruits and veggies aeroponically!
✎ They are the G.O.A.T: Get up close and learn about our award-winning dairy goats!
✎ Gardening with PVAMU Students: Let's Get Growing! Learn from PVAMU Students about growing a plant or two!
✎ Wellness in Houston Nutrition and Activity Center: "What's Shaking" with PVAMU Wellness in Houston? Explore our mobile kitchen & other exciting activities!
✎ Say CHEESE!: Learn about the technology used in agriculture. See how ag technology is saving the climate!
✎ Growing Minds: Exploring the Greenhouse: PVAMU Scientist give students a tour of the greenhouse. Get ready to name that plant!
✎Beef'n it up!: Where's the beef? Right here on the campus of PVAMU. Learn more about our cattle herd and meet #1013.
✎ Egg candling: Shhh. They're sleeping! Take a peek inside of an egg. Can you see the baby Chick?
