πJoin us for the 2025 (4th Annual )Overdose Awareness Tournament We are excited to kick off another year with another tournament!!ππLast year we had an incredible turnout, and this year we want to show up and show out again!!π
πWe want to honor the memory of those lost to accidental drug poisoning and extend our deepest sympathies to their families and communities. π
πWe are losing 7 people a day in BCπ
πEvery single one of these deaths represents a life cut short, a family left grieving, and a community impacted by this ongoing tragedy.π
πWe recognize that bridging the gap between harm reduction and recovery and treatment is vital for the survival of our communities. We must work together to break down the stigma that prevents individuals from seeking help and accessing life-saving resources.π
πWe must embrace harm reduction strategies, such as providing access to safe consumption sites that are proven to save lives, clean needles, naloxone, and other harm reduction supplies. We must also expand access to medication-assisted treatment, and work to eliminate barriers to addiction treatment and recovery. π
πWe urge our government leaders to prioritize evidence-based harm reduction strategies and support the recovery and wellness initiatives that are currently underfunded and overcrowded with wait lists that are months long.π
#EndOverdose #HarmReductionSavesLives
πThis is an open invitation to come and set up a booth/tent and come together to educate one another! Build community, connections and support one another to a cause near and dear to our heart. π
πOnce again thanking our generous donors who made all of the raffles possible!!!π
πLast year we raised $2100 and we were able to donate
$1000 to RainCity Housing peer program
and $1000 to For The Homies DTES .π
πWe hope to do the same again this year (hopefully exceeding last years donations)with the goal of raising some awareness and some money for a DTES community led/ PWLLE led project! π
πWe are encouraging nonprofits and treatment centres to participate or sponsor a team to play!!! π
