High Voltage Barbell Classic
Get ready to rock your world at the High Voltage Barbell Classic – where strength meets the electrifying energy of AC/DC! This isn’t just any barbell event; it’s a full-throttle showdown celebrating the power of lifting with a legendary twist.
The Competition:
Both men and women will light up the stage in their own divisions, each vying for the title of the strongest lifter. While the male and female divisions won’t compete against one another directly, the competitive spirit is alive and well as we crown the top two lifters in each category. It’s an epic battle where every lift counts, and only the best will be honored with 1st and 2nd place trophies!
What to Expect:
High Voltage Atmosphere: Immerse yourself in the spirit of AC/DC with a soundtrack that will keep the adrenaline pumping all day long.
Competitive Edge: Feel the energy as lifters push their limits to claim their rightful place on the podium.
Dual Division Glory: Celebrate strength and determination as we recognize the champions in both the men’s and women’s
Public Registration OPENS Monday February 3rd @7am

There are only 4 lifts being completed! We will be using a combined lifting total to determine our overall BEST lifters (OLY(Sinclair score)+Power(Wilks Score)) The Wilks and Sinclair methods are used to normalize lifted weights against the lifter's bodyweight. The 4 lifts are C&J, Back Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift (in that order).

This will be a great event, so mark your calendar as busy for April 12th and come out to see who the strongest pound for pound male and female lifters are. Don’t miss this year’s event.

Event Details:

Clean and Jerk – 7 minutes on the floor
Back Squat – 7 minutes on the floor
Bench press – 7 minutes on the floor
Dead Lift – 7 minutes on the floor

Athletes: Each athlete will be permitted to bring TWO people onto the lifting floor with them while they attempt their POWER lifts. These individuals will help the athlete load the bar with weights, may encourage the athlete, may aid in racking or re-racking a loaded bar, and may provide a spot if needed (any lift completed with the aid of a spotter will NOT count as a successful lift).

SCORING: The scoring for this event will be different than what is traditionally used for OLY/Powerlifting Meets. Usually, USAPL and USAW have weight classes and break everyone up into their own small groups. We have decided to incorporate weight classes and age groups. So you will be competing in a weight class and age group that we have combined from the USAPL and USAW guidelines.

WEIGHT CLASSES:
Each lift will be scored relative to the athlete's own body weight by way of the Sinclair Coefficient (Oly Lifts) and the Wilk’s Coefficient (Power lifts).
Age Groups:
• YOUTH:
1. From the day she/he reaches 12 years to the day before she reaches 14 years.

Each lift will be scored relative to the athlete's own body weight by way of the Sinclair Coefficient (Oly Lifts) and the Wilk’s Coefficient (Power lifts). is a mathematical coefficient that can be used to measure the relative strengths of powerlifters/weightlifters despite the different weight classes of the lifters (either Oly or Power Lifting) across the range of lifters body weights. The overall winner will be determined by their WILKS + their SINCLAIR combined TOTAL. We will get to see who the best pound for pound power and oly lifters are, but the winners of this meet will be determined by that COMBINED TOTAL of all 4 lifts (WILKS + SINCLAIR)
