1 – ELIGIBILITY
This tournament is open to ALL USBC YOUTH SANCTIONED BOWLERS. Participant MUST have current sanction fees paid upon entry for competition.
2 – AVERAGES
AVERAGES WILL BE ESTABLISHED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
A – ALL BOWLERS will begin competition using HIGHEST SANCTIONED 2024-2025 average with a MINIMUM of 12 games (NO RERATE/CONVERSION FOR HIGH SCHOOL AVERAGES). The “10-Pin Rule” will be in effect if bowler’s average is 10 or more pins higher for the current 2025-2026 season (MINIMUM 9 games).
B – If bowler does NOT have a 2024-2025 average of record, the bowler will use their highest OR composite 2025-2026 average with a MINIMUM of 9 games in a sanctioned USBC Youth League (High School Bowling included).
C – Once bowler has competed in TWO Youth Tournament of Champions Qualifying Events, a “Tournament Average” will be established and used specifically for Tournament Series for the duration of the season (MINIMUM 6 GAMES).
D – A bowler’s average & division can be ADJUSTED AT TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR’S DISCRESSION AT ANY TIME PRIOR TO THE START OF COMPETITION.
3 – POINTS STRUCTURE
For each Qualifying Event, bowlers will bowl three (3) games of qualifying. A cut will then be made in each division dependent upon field size. Those advancing from the qualifying round will then advance on to the Qualifier Finals which will see TWO rounds (ELIMINATION ROUND = ONE GAME / FINAL ROUND = ONE GAME). QUALIFIER POINTS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AS FOLLOWS:

WINNER = 40
RUNNER-UP = 36
MAKE THE CUT = 34
SHOW UP = 32
DIVISION 2
WINNER = 30
RUNNER-UP = 26
MAKE THE CUT = 24
SHOW UP = 22
DIVISION 3
WINNER = 20
RUNNER-UP = 16
MAKE THE CUT = 14
SHOW UP = 12
DIVISION 4
WINNER = 10
RUNNER-UP = 6
MAKE THE CUT = 4
SHOW UP = 2
4 – HANDICAP
Handicap will be figured at 85% from the top of each division EXCEPT for Division 1 which will be SCRATCH (NEW for 2025-2026). Divisions are determined by AVERAGE, NOT BY GENDER:
+ DIVISION 1 – AVERAGES 185+ (SCRATCH)
+ DIVISION 2 – AVERAGES 155 -184
+ DIVISION 3 – AVERAGES 110 -154
+ DIVISION 4 – AVERAGES 109 & BELOW
5 – CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS
COMPETITORS MUST BOWL IN A MINIMUM OF 4 QUALIFYING EVENTS TO BE ELIGBILE FOR FINALS. Finals will be a “Bracket Style Tournament” by each division. Seeding in the bracket will be determined based on the following criteria: TOTAL POINTS / QUALIFIERS ATTENDED / TOTAL PINS (THE MORE QUALIFIERS YOU BOWL & THE BETTER YOU BOWL = BETTER SEEDING!). Bowlers will be guaranteed an OPENING ROUND TWO (2) GAME MATCH. After Round #1, each division will be cut down to the FINAL EIGHT (8) and the Quarter-Finals which will be a SINGLE-GAME match, then down to the FINAL FOUR and another SINGLE-GAME match, and then the CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS with one last SINGLE-GAME match.
6 – FEES
Fees are $25.00 per qualifying tournament per bowler. Pay CASH/CHECK. $12.00 will go directly into Fort Wayne Metro SMART Scholarship Fund.
7 – DRESS CODE
Proper attire & all necessary underclothes must be worn at all times. NONE of the following allowed: Hats, Halter Tops, Tank Tops, Obscene Slogans or Liquor Advertisements. SWEAT PANTS AND BASKETBALL/MESH SHORTS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED. JEANS AND OR BLACK/KHAKI PANTS/SHORTS PERMITTED. Any other clothing under question will be decided at the discretion of the designated tournament director.
8 – ON LANE EDIQUET / GENERAL CONDUCT
NO electronic devices on the lanes while bowling (PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES USED FOR LIVE STREAMING ARE PROHIBITED IN BOWLING CENTER! NO EXCEPTIONS). NO food/drink will be permitted in the bowler’s area. NO alcohol consumption will be permitted by adults behind the youth bowler’s lanes. NO smoking/vaping permitted on premises or by bowlers during competition. ALL OTHER YOUTH CONDUCT AND GENERAL PLAYING RULES WILL DEFAULT BACK TO THE 2025-2026 USBC NATIONAL RULEBOOK (Reference Rule 17d – PAGE 18).
17d. Youth Conduct Individuals holding youth membership can be removed from competition/functions and/or suspended/denied membership for the following: 1. Conduct derogatory to the best interest of youth bowling including, but not limited to, the following in conjunction with youth competition and functions: a. Using tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages. b. Using foul language or gestures. c. Wearing clothing depicting foul language or gestures. 2. Prior adjudication of delinquency or conviction of a crime including, but not limited to, crimes involving physical or mental abuse or sexual assault.
