About this Event
Abstract:
In this workshop, participants will learn how to craft and gradually obfuscate a single binary challenge in C, gaining insights into the fundamental principles behind reverse engineering CTFs. Instead of focusing on how to solve existing puzzles, attendees will start with a simple program, then apply incremental obfuscation techniques (such as rearranging code flow or introducing misleading variables) to make analysis more challenging. Through this hands-on process, participants will develop a clearer understanding of both the offensive and defensive aspects of reverse engineering, enabling them to better recognize and overcome similar hurdles in the future. A basic familiarity with Linux, C, and the command line is recommended, but no prior reverse engineering experience is required.
