About this Event
The West Texas Panhandle Emergency Nurses Association has partnered this year with the RAC, Texas Emergency Medical Task Force, Randall County Sheriff's Office, and PANTEX Hazmat to offer education on Emergency Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Mitigation to first responders, healthcare professionals, and law enformcent in our area. This year’s symposium will take place October 9th, 2024 at the Amarillo Civic Center Heritage Hall and North Exhibit Hall.
Our speakers include: Sgt. Colby Doak (Randall County Crime Scene Investigator), Victor Wells (Texas Medical Task Force Assistant Program Director), Dr. Jason M Wiersema PhD DABFA (Harris County Director of Forensic Anthropology and Emergency Management-Texas Mass Fatality Operations Response Team), Chad Zarbock (Pantex Fire Department Health & Safety/EMS Captain), Max Dunlap (Amarillo Office of Emergency Mangement Director), Jeremy Baker (Captain for Pantex Fire, NREMT-P, CCEMT-P), and Justin Baker (Fire fighter/Paramedic, CCEMT-P). In addition to our speaker lineup, we will be utilizing the North Exhibit Hall for the RAC AMBUS, RAC Mobile Morgue Unit, and various Emergency Management Resource Programs throughout the State of Texas.
In partnership with Amarillo College, we will be providing 8 continuing educations units for: Nurses, EMS, Respiratory Therapy, and Law Enforment (TCOLE). Registration will begin at 07:30 am at the south doors of the Heritage Hall. Breakfast and Lunch (Sharkey's Burrito Company) will be provided. We will also have a coffee cart provided by Palace Coffee.
