About this Event
Volunteer with us for a memorable 4th of July! The museum is looking for 5-6 volunteers to help us with festivities starting at 6 pm. After, enjoy a spectacular view of Toledo’s fireworks from either the deck of the historic Col. James M. Schoonmaker Museum Ship or the scenic grounds of our Maritime Park!
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Directing Members
- Directing Parking
- Delivering Bottled Water
- Checking for Wristbands
- Passing out Glowsticks
- Viewing the Fireworks!
Here are the additional details:
⚓ The Museum Ship and our Great Lakes Maritime Park will open at 6 p.m. for registered members to secure their ideal viewing spot.
⚓ For Members on the ship, seating is available on the middle and back deck. We have a private event for our Admiral Society members taking place in the bow (the front of the ship). The entire front area, including the Pilothouse and Captain's Lounge, is not accessible during this event. To learn more about our Admiral Society membership, click here.
⚓ Feel free to bring your own chairs, blankets, and picnic items to relax and enjoy the riverside ambiance as you await the fireworks display.
⚓ Restrooms will be open inside the Museum. There are no restrooms on the Schoonmaker.
⚓ Please dress accordingly. We recommend flat, comfortable shoes while aboard the ship.
