We are still in our exhibition slam season and next up is our annual 30/30 New Sh*t Slam! All poems used in this slam are to be from April’s National Poetry Month 30 for 30 challenge (this could be your own personal 30/30, or any poems written from prompts or prompt challenges such as the one we’re currently holding), or if you didn’t participate, but have poems you wrote in April, those count too! Now, by “April” we mean, April 2024 lol. Not April 1997, or 1978, or 2001… APRIL 2024! lol
Rules are as follows: 3 rounds, scoring is cumulative, no time limit, and no props!
Join us on May 1st at The Venue on 35th St, Norfolk, VA, doors open at 6:30, slam starts at 7:30, and it’s only $5! Hosted by… it’s a surprise!
Also! The Verb Benders Slam Team is currently fundraising to go to Southern Fried Poetry Slam in beautiful Pompano Beach, FL, and will be selling raffle tickets to hold a 50:50 raffle drawing at our June 5th send off slam/show! Tickets are $10! (this is separate from admission to the show)
As always, we need poets, judges, and people to fill the space and cheer these poets on!
