About this Event
For this fourth round of Middle School GPS Workshops, Back to Basics, educators will engage with genetics content focused on the Alabama 7th Grade Life Science Course of Study. Participants will explore how student misconceptions impact genetics learning and experience hands-on activities. Aimed at bringing science content to life, these activities support teaching foundational genetics concepts. To learn more about GPS, visit . Teachers will leave with seven hours of professional learning credit and various resources to take back to their classroom.
MS GPS: Back to Basics will be held on December 3, 2024, in the Legacy Museum at Tuskegee University.
*Registration is limited to educators who teach full-time in an Alabama public school and teach one or more sections of 7th Grade Life Science.
For Alabama public middle school teachers, schools will be reimbursed for substitute costs of up to $80. To expedite reimbursements, we are asking for your POC at your school for us to contact to process your substitute reimbursement.
Please register by November 18, 2024. When you register, please keep in mind that you are registering for the Middle School GPS Workshop in its entirety. Failure to complete all required sections of the workshop will result in forfeiture of kits and substitute reimbursement.
