Scouting American Scout Troop 850 is a Boy Lead group. We are looking for Arrow of Light Cub Scouts boys (5th Graders), Middle School and High Schoolers to come visit the Troop and Scouts in their campout environment. Visiting Scouts and boys visiting for the day will be able to imbed with Patrols and be introduced to various Scouting methods:
- Learn about the Scout 10 Essentials
- Fire Building
- Basic First Aid, learn about Shock, and explore what a "Hurry Case" is to help potentially save an individual in a medical emergency.
- Shelter Building & Wilderness Survival techniques
- Learn about the Patrol Method, Scout Spirit and what Youth Leadership looks like in the Troop.
- Learn about menu planning, food safety and cleaning up at a campout.
- Learn about the Troop 850 Axe Yard and how safety is integrated to allow the boys to operate on campouts.
After the Patrol conduct their demonstrations, Scouts and visiting boys with their Parents are invited to stay for dinner consisting of Hot Dogs and sample the various varieties of Chili prepared by Troop 850 Leaders and Parents at our Annual Chili Cook-off.
