The Western States Hostage Negotiators' Association (WSHNA) is excited to be traveling to Boise, Idaho for our 38th Annual Training Seminar. Our 2024 Training Seminar will also feature a full day Negotiation Team Competition on Sunday, April 28, 2024. There is a separate free registration link for the HNT Competition. Our Competition Event continues to be a big success and a quality training experience. Space is limited, so gather your team and enter now. Note: You must be a registered seminar attendee to participate in the competition.
Our Training Seminar will be at the Boise Convention Centre & The Grove Hotel. Walkable overflow hotels are the Hampton Inn & Hyatt Place. Schedule includes Early Check-In for HNT Competitors April 27th, HNT Competition April 28th, Seminar Check-In & Hospitality April 28th, Training Seminar April 29, April 30th, & May 1st. Hospitality & special social events to be announced.
Your Training Seminar registration fee includes your 2024/2025 Membership (May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025)
The host committee from the Idaho Department of Correction is hoping you will come early and/or stay late and enjoy all the fun that the Idaho State Capital has to offer. Of course, keeping with WSHNA standards, the Seminar will provide first-rate presenters to increase your crisis negotiation skills & team building events in the evening.

Are lunches provided?
Yes. Lunches are included for Monday, April 29th & Tuesday, April 30th.
Is the last day, Wednesday, May 3rd, a full day of class?
No. The morning will be a presentation and final WSHNA business until 2:00 PM. If requested, space will be made available for networking in the afternoon.
Are registrations transferrable?
Yes. We understand that our profession has scheduling challenges (court, special assignments, unplanned events, unusual occurrences, etc.). Thus, registrations are transferrable provided you notify WSHNA via Bruce Wind at Bruce Wind.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No.
What is the refund policy?
Registration cancellations less than 45 days prior to the beginning of the Seminar will not be refunded. Rather, a voucher for the following year's Seminar may be issued at the discretion of the Executive Board.
What is the nearest airport?
Boise Airport (BOI) is only 3.6 miles from the Grove Hotel. BOI offers all major rental car companies & ride share options. The Grove also has a complimentary airport shuttle.

The Grove offers covered self-parking or valet service.
