LOCATION & ACCOMMODATIONThe ALPCA Lone Star Region is proud to invite ALPCA members throughout the region and beyond to its 2024 Summer Swap Meet, to be held at the Schertz Community Center, located at 1400 Schertz Pkwy. in Schertz, Texas. The Community Center is Building 3 of the Hal Baldwin Municipal Complex, situated between City Hall and the Civic Center.
Schertz (pop. 42,000) is a suburb of San Antonio (pop. 1,450,000) just to the northeast of the city proper and is bisected by Interstate 35, therefore virtually countless lodging, restaurant and fast-food options are available close by, mostly along the Interstate.
SCHEDULE & INFORMATION
The doors will open at 8 AM Saturday with coffee and doughnuts. There will be plenty of tables and there is plenty of wall space for displays. All displays must be free standing or able to lean against the walls. We are not allowed to attach anything to the walls. Lunch will be provided at no cost to meet attendees between 11:30 AM and noon. After lunch, there will be a brief business meeting and awards, followed by a donation auction. Donations are encouraged, either at the meet or beforehand. Those who wish to send donations beforehand can send them to Jim Palmer (#1779), Treasurer. Contact him at treas(at)alpcalonestar(dot)org. Awards will be for Best of Show (for a display of two or more plates), Best Plate (for a single item) and Long Distance.
